Building consensus in а community

The ability of people to agree with each other and support each other – is a step towards a responsible community. Therefore, building consensus in a community is aimed at conflict resolution, training of the community members on the ways of conducting dialogue and promoting community development.

The model of safe community, drafted by our experts, is a successful example of community residents` joint efforts to overcome the problem of juvenile crime and establishment of favorable environment for life and development.

Restorative practices in a community are the following:

  • facilitation of meetings between the authorized representatives of a community and  stakeholders of a conflict or problem that needs to be addressed,
  • circles of decision-making,
  • family group conferences,
  • intermediation in conflicts and disputes resolution through mediations and moderation of parties` negotiations.
